Black Shrunken Bison Aro Leather Belt
Cut from American shrunken bison leather, the Aro Belt carries a natural depth in both texture and feel. The pronounced grain varies from piece to piece, with a soft, substantial hand that breaks in easily while maintaining its structure.
Rather than a traditional buckle and fixed holes, the Aro is built around a continuous loop design. The long strap feeds through two square loops, creating a secure, fully adjustable fit that allows the belt to be worn in different ways.
Solid brass hardware anchors the construction, offered in two finishes: matte silver tone or antique brass.
With wear, the bison will soften further and develop a rich patina. Variations in grain, texture, and tone are inherent to the leather and make each piece unique.

ABOUT BISON LEATHER
Shrunken bison is distinguished by its deeply pronounced grain, substantial hand and natural variation in texture. During the shrinking process, the grain becomes concentrated, creating the irregular peaks, valleys and large-scale pattern characteristic of the leather.
The texture is not embossed or artificially applied, but originates in the natural grain of the American bison hide. As a result, grain structure can vary considerably across a single skin, from tighter areas to larger, more pronounced sections.
We select and position individual panels according to their grain, texture and character, allowing these variations to become part of the composition of each finished piece. Natural creasing, markings and shifts in tone are inherent to the material and are intentionally retained rather than concealed.
With use, the leather will soften further, while the surface and pull-up character will continue to develop through wear.
ABOUT HARDWARE
We primarily use solid brass hardware, selected for its strength, durability and resistance to corrosion. Where specified, black hardware is finished using PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition), creating a durable surface finish while retaining the weight and character of solid brass beneath.
Like the leather itself, hardware will evolve through use. Black finishes may gradually soften or wear at points of frequent contact, revealing subtle traces of the underlying brass and developing a patina individual to each piece.
Variations and signs of wear are considered a natural part of the material’s evolution.
NATURAL VARIATION
Natural variation is an inherent part of the materials we work with. Grain, texture, color, markings, and surface character will vary from piece to piece, making each object subtly unique.
These variations are not considered imperfections or defects, but part of the individual character of the material.
